LaStone Therapy (Hot ‘Stone/Rock’ Massage)

This therapy has roots in Native American traditions and beliefs.   Heated stones placed under specific areas of the body between toes & in palms of your hands, help the muscles to relax.  It goes beyond the physical experience of massage and enters deeper dimensions of relaxation, health and well-being.   Delivering the principles of geothermotherapy – alternating the application of heated basalt  and chilled marble stones to the treatment.   Massaged with the stones and thermal variation do all the heavy work.  This vascular gymnastics of the circulatory system assists the body in self – healing whilst producing alternately sedative and energising responses to the body – is a fantastic treatment.

Indian Head Massage (Champissage)

Brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970’s, Indian head massage can be carried out seated through clothing, with or without use of oils. Alternatively for a longer treatment it can be received lying down with oils on the massage table.  It is a deeply relaxing massage working head and neck, face and shoulders.   Indian head massage aims to relieve aches and pains, calm and relax, rebalance energy flows.   It is excellent if prone to tension and migraines.

Aromatherapy Massage

Clinical Aromatherapy massage is unsurpassed in the field of complementary medicine for relieving stress. The combination of massage with the purest essential oils is an exceptionally enjoyable therapy, combining physiological, psychological and pharmacological interactions with the human body. It is of particular benefit for stress related problems such as insomnia, tension, muscular aches and pains, backache, depression, and anxiety. The less stress we have the better our immune system is able to function and fight every day illnesses.

Swedish Massage (Classic Massage)

This is a therapeutic massage, using five basic strokes, which can be both deep and invigorating or light and relaxing. It works on the soft tissues of the body; breaking down adhesions; reducing pain caused by local tensions in the muscles, tendons and ligaments. It improves blood and lymph circulation as well as improving nerve condition; improves the body’s flexibility and tone; improves the appearance of the skin; induces a feeling of well being.

No Hands

This massage approach is powerful and deeply relaxing, beneficial for muscular complaints, stress & well being. The muscles fibres are worked smoothly and extensively warming and stretching the muscles, facilitating unwinding and release of tension. The controlled use of the practitioner’s body weight, combines with the soft front of the forearm, produces an extremely powerful and deep massage which is safe and effective for people of all ages. These techniques are often incorporated into other types of massage but can be done as a unique and wonderfully deep full body massage.

Reflexology

Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed ‘Zone therapy’. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to specific areas and organs of the body. In the 1930′s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what is known as reflexology. Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy aimed at stimulating the body’s own healing processes. The practitioner employs a combination of techniques to the individual’s feet using them as an anatomical map to treat the whole body. The recipient is seated in a comfortable, reclining chair.

Pregnancy Massage is carried out with clients’ in a side-lying position, supported by specially designed and extremely comfortable, ‘Body Support Cushions’. Pregnancy creates significant emotional, physiological, psychological and spiritual changes in a woman’s life. Massage therapy, alongside existing healthcare, can support mother and baby by offering a wide range of benefits; reducing stress and promoting relaxation: improving mood and sleep patterns: relieving muscle tension and cramping; as well as other soft tissue discomfort. The specialist pregnancy body cushions can be used for the short period after giving birth, when your stomach and breast areas may still be tender.
